More of Capucine’s work in our product gallery

Here we are: 24th December, last day of our Calvendo Advent calendar 2016. Say hello to this wonderful Japanese Kokeshi doll version of Father Christmas in our author Capucine’s delightful A Year of Kokeshi wall calendar – whimsical illustrations of this old Japanese tradition of handmade wooden dolls.

Thanks everyone for joining us on our Advent calendar journey for the past 24 days! Wishing you all a wonderful, peaceful and joyful Christmas with family and friends. Take care of yourselves and only the very best for 2017!

Quirky, witty, imaginative: Door number 23 of our Advent calendar reveals a peanut family standing in the rain. With eggshell umbrellas. And why not! Our author Nailia Schwarz has created this and other wonderful pictures that tell stories for her wonderful Simple Things wall calendar.

Ladybird, ladybird

Thu, 22 Dec 2016 06:00:48 +0100

We all need a bit of good luck from time to time. So, behind door number 22 of our Advent calendar, we find this lovely ladybird macro shot from our author Icy Ho’s Beautiful Beetles World in the UK wall calendar, full of close-up faces of tiny little critters.

P.S.: Don’t forget to take a moment to breathe today. We know a lot of you are running around like mad at the moment 🙂

Curiosity and a fluffy tail …

Opening door number 21 of our Advent calendar to the cutest sight: Our author Eurika Balsyte-Ojakoski made friends with a curious squirrel and her wall calendar The red squirrel at home is pure joy. We’re quite taken with this particular shot but then again, with many others, too … See for yourself 🙂

Narrowboat life

Tue, 20 Dec 2016 06:00:46 +0100

Door number 20 of our Advent calendar opens up to the colours and joy of narrowboats. Our author Terry Hewlett’s Narrowboats wall calendar will transport you down the Kennet and Avon canal with a collection of brightly painted narrowboats. Lovely eye for detail there and a great reminder of a unique British tradition.
