So graceful: Hidden behind door number 15 of our Advent calendar is this beautiful flamingo. Photographer Dave Knowles has put together a whole collection of images for his Just Flamingos calendar featuring this type of wading bird in all its glory. The colours are delightful, showing that Mother Nature simply always does it best.

Leigh studied at the Royal College of Art, worked as a knitted textile designer selling to the likes of Calvin Klein and Nicole Farhi, is lecturer and programme leader for knitted textiles at the renowned Glasgow School of Art, runs his own print company and – creates calendars with Calvendo! His Abstract Pattern collection is inspired by the colours of the Greek Mediterranean and the digital print patterns echo the vibrancy and beauty of Leigh’s favourite islands.
